Route guide - The Nockalm Road
The almost 35km road leads in 52 bends through the only European national park in gentle high mountains with the largest stands of spruce and stone pine in the eastern Alps. The slight gradient of the road is an optimum prerequisite for enjoying the uniqueness of the Nockbergs and their unmistakeable appearance - the rounded "Nocken" (summits) - which count among the geological rarities and are unique in the entire region of the Alps. One finds excellent gastronomic venues along the road offering Carinthian home cooking. The attractive offer is extended with well-marked hiking trails and information facilities as well as children’s playgrounds
