Following the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and the Minimundus miniature park, the Nockalm Road is now the third Carinthian attraction to be admitted as a full member of Austrian Leading Sights.Austrian Leading Sights brings together selected attractions and visitor destinations across Austria that stand for quality, hospitality, innovation and sustainable visitor experiences. 34 kilometres through the UNESCO Nockberge Biosphere Reserve
Over a distance of 34 kilometres, the Nockalm Road leads through the characteristic landscape of the UNESCO Nockberge Biosphere Reserve, which has been recognised by the IUCN since 2012. Rounded mountain peaks, expansive alpine pastures, idyllic mountain lakes and the largest stone pine forests in the Eastern Alps shape the journey through the Nockberge mountains.Numerous visitor attractions, exhibitions and hiking opportunities along the road invite guests to discover the natural and cultural landscape in greater depth. Regional cuisine complements the varied experience, making the Nockalm Road a destination that combines scenery, knowledge, activity and enjoyment.
