ICONICALLY CARINTHIAN - THE NEW NOCKALMHOF
The Nockalmhof was extensively modernised during the new construction of the biosphere park centre. The exhibition in the new building and the dining area are connected by a glass cube and the apple-green floor runs through all areas with signs for the exhibition “Kärntens versteinerte Welten” (Eng. “Carinthia’s Fossilised Worlds”). A new address for culinary delights as a perfect complement to the offerings of the biosphere park centre therefore developed right by the Nockalm Road.
Playfull Retro MixDuring the modernisation of the interior, it was made sure to create a playful stylistic mix of old and new: the old wooden tables form a contrast to the brown-green houndstooth seating furniture and the wardrobes in apple-green artificial croc leather. Roller blinds as decorative pieces, wallpaper iridescent in terms of colour and modern lamps create a pleasant retro design atmosphere. The facade of the Nockalmhof largely remained the same, forming a visually exciting synergy with the new biosphaerenpark centre.
Exciting InsightsThe new biosphere park centre has also opened its gates right by the Nockalmhof. Visitors can look forward to a spacious gastronomy area, permanent exhibitions, a shop, the biosphere park info corner, the interactive children’s exhibitions all about bats, a playground and panoramic and information boards.
